I’m a very compact, uptight ball of energy and my disposition is reflected in my photography. My japanese calligraphy teacher once pointed out my calligraphy as an example of someone who was too constrained and needed to loosen up. Luckily for me, I live an a very architecturally homogeneous community that is conducive to making constrained formalist art. Yet, I find myself wanting a challenge. I decided I would visit St Johnsbury, VT a town known for heroin addicts, the first indoor mall in Vermont and amazing victorian architecture. This part one of my attempt to photograph a type of structure I don’t often see.
